SUMMER WORKSHOPS
Intensive Scene Study and Monologue Workshop
June 24 - August 12
Thursdays, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Class fee: $160
Instructor: Lauren Shouse
In this scene study workshop, actors will explore how to put their acting craft into action and connect to their work in an emotional way. Each participant will begin the workshop series with monologue work. The actors will then be assigned scene partners and have the opportunity to delve into character and scene study. The class environment will provide a safe place for participants to take risks and find emotional connection to their work. Participants will learn how to analyze a script, how to think like the character, how to be truthful, how to make strong acting choices, and how to take risks. Actors will receive direction and feedback to help them take their craft to the next level. Participants should be prepared to rehearse their material outside of class time and present their work to the class each week.
