MAINSTAGE SERIES

TOMMY in CONCERT
February 22-26
Peter Townshend's tale of a young boy's journey from pain to triumph is the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theatre! The exhilarating score is timeless in its youthful appeal, giving the show a cross-generational appeal that has made it a smash-hit around the world.

AVENUE Q
March 23-April 15
AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help Princeton finally discover his purpose in life!

THE LAST FIVE YEARS
May 4-26
A contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up... or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. The Last Five Years is an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both points of view.

SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE
June 8-24
The 1970s brought an increase in pre-marital sex, divorce rates and single parent households.  Five 28-year-olds planning to attend their 10-year high school reunion gather in an East Village, New York City, apartment to discuss their dreams, insecurities and pasts. As they while away the hours reminiscing and smoking pot, their conversation becomes funnier-and more revealing-as the smoke thickens, and they try to figure out what to do with their lives as they approach age 30.

CAROLINE, OR CHANGE
September 7-30
Set in 1963 Louisiana, Caroline, or Change centers its action on the Gellman family and their African-American maid, Caroline, who is drifting through her life, nearly paralyzed by her circumstances - a single mother of four working in a service job to a white family. Caroline ultimately must choose between continuing on as her proud self and her family's welfare. Does she, or doesn't she?

THE DESPERATE HOURS
October 12-28
The Hilliards are a typical family living on the outskirts of Indianapolis; abruptly, their pleasant home becomes a jungle full of cunning and violence. The Hilliards are helpless. A murder occurs. The police move closer.  "That very rare thing, an almost perfect melodrama fast, tight, logical, combining sentiment with gunfire in exactly the right proportions."-The New Yorker

MISS SAIGON in CONCERT
November 14-18
In the turmoil of the Vietnam War, an American soldier and a Vietnamese girl fall in love, only to be separated during the fall of Saigon. An international sensation, "Miss Saigon" is an epic, daring pop opera that is universal in its emotional power even as it deals with controversial, contemporary issues. Raw and uncompromising, "Miss Saigon" is an intensely personal story of the losses we suffer and the sacrifices we make in a world gone mad.

STREET CORNER SHOWS
(back by popular demand)

I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE
(Amateur Production)
February 2-12
This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as 'the relationship.' This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, 'Say, what are you doing Saturday night?'

PARALLEL LIVES
Tuesdays, May-July
In the opening scene, two Supreme Beings plan the beginning of the world with the relish of two slightly sadistic suburban wives decorating a living room. From this moment, the audience is whisked through an outrageous universe, where two actresses play men and women struggling through the common rituals of modern life: teenagers on a date, sisters at their grandmother's funeral, a man and a woman together in a country-western bar. With boundless humor, PARALLEL LIVES reexamines the ongoing quest to find parity and love in a contest handicapped by capricious gods-or in this case, goddesses.

MACABARET
Thursdays, October 4-25
Hailed by reviewers as a must-see annual Halloween treat, this cabaret-style show will make you laugh 'til it hurts with its outrageous look at the morbid and the macabre.  If you're in the mood for a "slightly warped, slightly psychotic and extremely macabre evening of cabaret-style entertainment," come enjoy a night of ghoulish fun with "deliciously dark songs guaranteed to tickle your funny bone."

CLASSACT DRAMATICS
(youth productions)

THE SECRET GARDEN
July 13-28
This enchanting classic of children's literature is brought to life on the stage. Orphaned in India, 11 year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which guides Mary her through her new life, in this timeless and compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S MIDTERM
December 7-15
As four high school friends gather to cram for a midterm on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the play comes to life before their eyes...  literally!   All the plot, all the wit and all the magic of one of the Bard's most popular plays is presented here along with light-hearted commentary!  A Shakespeare play that everyone can understand and enjoy!
